Musical Experience

I am passionate about electronic music composition, as well as about producing music together with other artists. I have studied the piano, and participated in many performance projects. I also have a shorter resumé.
 
Music Recital (April 2007)
Piano and Cello Recital at the Tauromenium in Pretoria. The other participants were Dietrich Bethge (cello) and Sara Bethge (piano) from London. I performed selected works by Gurdjieff / De Hartmann.
 
Music Recital (September 2004)
Performance with Dietrich Bethge (cello) and Sara Bethge (piano) from London in Pretoria and Hermanus. I accompanied the cello, and performed selected works by Gurdjieff / De Hartmann.
 
Desert Voices II (2001 - 2002)
Project with Gito Baloi, sponsored by the National Arts Council. Continuation of the first Desert Voices concept, combining acoustic and electronic music.
 
Dance Umbrella (1998)
Performed Clown Nine with Jungle Performance at the Wits Theatre as part of the Dance Umbrella. Directed by Phillippa de Villiers.
 
Music Sculpture (1997)
Performed musical pieces at the Tsebiso Art Gallery, Johannesburg, with Louw Venter on Mark Odonovan's sculptures.
 
Desert Voices (1996)
A project with Gito Baloi, sponsored by the Foundation for the Creative Arts. I programmed music and Gito played acoustic instruments and sang.
 
Global Kraal (1996)
Solo music and masks show, performed at Grahamstown Arts Festival.
 
Jungle Performance (1996)
Street-theatre group: One Country, One Picnic was performed in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Soweto, Bloemfontein, Welkom, Alexandra, Grahamstown, Irene and Mpumalanga.

Crawford College, Killarney (1994)
Music teacher: taught piano, class music and individual subject music. Formed a choir, organised two music soirees.

Caucasian Chalk Circle (1991)
Composed electro-acoustic music for this Market Theatre production of Bertolt Brecht's play, directed by Gerrit Schoonhoven. It was performed on the Main Festival at the Grahamstown Arts Festival, and at the Market Theatre.
 
Pelmama Academy, Soweto (1991 - 1992)
Lecturer in 1991 and Acting Subject Head of Music during 1992. Taught piano, history and theory of music, aural training; responsible for the administration of the Music Department during 1992.
